Trade execution
How a buy or sell becomes one NEAR transaction: where routes come from, the minimum you sign, and the checks before anything moves.
Every trade is one call on your trading account, signed by the trading key in the signer frame. The account checks the call, sends the swap to the venue with itself as the recipient, and settles the fee once the venue reports how much of the input it used.
Routes
Section titled “Routes”The terminal asks several route sources at once, on the venues the account allows, and signs the route that leaves you the most. A route is checked against the chain before it is signed, whichever source it came from.
Two-step routes
Section titled “Two-step routes”A token that trades only against another token (not NEAR) is reached in two legs, NEAR to the paired token and then the paired token to the target, from one signature. The two legs aren’t atomic: if the second leg fails, you hold the paired token, and the app offers to convert it.
The minimum you sign
Section titled “The minimum you sign”The minimum output is the quoted output less the slippage, rounded down. A slippage you set yourself is used as it is.
If the pool refuses because the output would fall below the minimum, nothing is bought and no fee is charged, but the gas is still burnt.
What the signer and the contract check
Section titled “What the signer and the contract check”The trading key is created inside the signer frame as a key the browser won’t export, and the frame checks every request before it signs. The account runs the same kinds of checks again, on chain, with nothing taken on trust from the browser. Keys and signing covers the frame itself.
The fee
Section titled “The fee”The fee is 0.75%, taken only on the NEAR side of a trade:
- Buy: on the NEAR that goes in. If the venue hands part of it back, the fee shrinks in proportion to what was used.
- Sell to NEAR: on the signed minimum, not on what arrives, so a fill above the minimum doesn’t raise it.
It’s paid as plain NEAR to fees.unrlzd.near in the same transaction, after the swap settles.
